Principal's Message

Happy Friday!
I wanted to inform you of an important update regarding the future of the Wellness Center at Spanger. It has been decided that the Wellness Center will be leaving Spanger at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year. Our Mental Health Specialist (Ms. Lexe) and our Community Liason (Ms. Cassie) will remain at Spanger through the end of this year and be available to support students through individual and group counseling, as well as SEL support for teachers. I want to assure you that we remain committed to the overall well-being and mental health of our students. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Exciting Update:

Spanger will be getting a new inclusive playground this summer! This playground will replace the bark box play area next to the music room and will include rubber safety surfacing, sensory-rich activities, and an inclusive swing seat!

We are excited to announce that our 4th and 5th grade Spartans will begin a fabulous musical adventure featuring the recorder! We are well supplied with recorders to provide instruments to students for this in-class experience.

Should you or your child desire a recorder of their very own to bring to class, we exclusively recommend the Yamaha YRS-24B linked here or at the link below. There are hundreds of different recorders available online, but not all recorders are created equally! We recommend the Yamaha YRS-24B because it ensures the instrument you purchase will be well-made, playable, and have a beautiful sound. We are looking forward to more with the recorder in the coming weeks!

Save the date for our Chick-fil-A Food Night!

Come by anytime between 5:00 and 8:00 pm on February 13th, to see your teachers and Spanger Staff working. Chick-fil-A will be donating 10% of all proceeds made between 5-8 pm (drive-thru included!
