Principal's Message:

Happy Friday Spartan Families!

It is hard to believe that we have been in school for a month on Monday! It has been amazing to see how much students have achieved in such a short amount of time!

We had picture day on Wednesday, but if you missed it, we will have a makeup day on Friday, October 14th!

This week had its challenges with smoke and excessive heat and I want to take this time to thank and compliment the teachers and students at Spanger for their understanding and flexibility! We had inside recess for most of the week and practiced our inclement weather procedures. 

Have a great weekend and we will see everyone on Monday!

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

What is PBIS?

School-wide PBIS is a multi-tiered framework to make schools more effective places. It establishes a social culture and the behavior supports needed to improve social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes for all students. PBIS is flexible enough to support student, family, and community needs.

Congratulations Spanger for achieving Silver Level implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as recognized by the California PBIS Coalition for reflecting excellence in the implementation of the core features of PBIS!

At Spanger, our behavior expectations are to be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Every Friday we recognize students for exhibiting these traits by holding a drawing. On Fridays, we pull a Spartan Shield from their class tub to see who is the lucky winner. The winner gets to choose a prize. If you would like to help us keep the prize table full, please consider donating an item from the link below.

i-Ready Parent Night

We will be having a virtual i-Ready Parent Education Night on September 19, 2022 from 6:30-7:30pm. This will be for families with students in 2nd-5th grade as it will cover both the assessment and instruction piece of i-Ready. We will be emailing more information to families on Monday!
