Quote of the Week:
"The best index to a person's character is how he treats people who can't do them any good, and how he treats people who can't fight back."
-Abigail Van Buren
Principal's Message:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this message finds you well. As we embark on a new month, we are excited to share with you our focus for February at Spanger. Throughout this month, our school community will be placing a special emphasis on kindness.
We believe that fostering kindness is essential in creating a positive and supportive learning environment for our students. As part of our commitment to character education, we will be incorporating various activities and discussions into the curriculum to reinforce the importance of kindness.
Here are a few ways you can join us in promoting kindness at home:
Family Discussions: Take some time to discuss the concept of kindness with your child. Share examples of kind gestures and encourage them to think about how they can be kind to others.
Random Acts of Kindness: Encourage your child to perform random acts of kindness, both at home and in their community. These can be as simple as helping a classmate, holding the door for someone, or expressing gratitude.
Reading Together: Consider reading books together that highlight the value of kindness. This can be a wonderful way to reinforce the importance of empathy and compassion.
Kindness Calendar: Create a kindness calendar for the month, with daily suggestions for kind actions. This can be a fun and engaging way for the whole family to participate in spreading kindness.
We look forward to a month filled with positive interactions, thoughtful gestures, and a shared commitment to creating a culture of kindness at Spanger. Together, we can make a significant impact on the social and emotional well-being of our students.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for your continued support in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
