Principal's Message:
As we explore and celebrate all that these first months of 2024 bring, I want to highlight the continued significance of maintaining excellent attendance, especially considering the various holidays and breaks on the horizon.
In alignment with our district-wide "Every Day Matters" Attendance Campaign, and the resources available on our "Every Day Matters" website, we aim to provide you with valuable tips and support. Regular school attendance is not merely a routine requirement; it serves as a cornerstone for your child's academic progress. Missing even just a day or two can significantly impact learning.
Here's how you can establish good attendance and health habits for your child during this period:
Seasonal Wellness Check: Use the start of the year to schedule a wellness check for your child. Ensure they are up to date on vaccinations and discuss any health concerns with their healthcare provider. A healthy start can contribute to consistent attendance and better overall well-being.
Weather-Ready Attire: As we navigate the winter months, encourage your child to dress appropriately for the weather. Ensure they have warm and comfortable clothing, especially during colder days. Being weather-ready helps prevent illnesses and ensures they are comfortable in school.
Mindful Screen Time Breaks: With shorter days and potential indoor activities, be mindful of your child's screen time. Encourage breaks for physical activities, reading, or creative pursuits. Balancing screen time with other engaging activities contributes to both physical and mental well-being.
Calendar Collaboration: Involve your child in planning for upcoming holidays and breaks. Use a family calendar to mark important dates, including school breaks, vacations, and special occasions. Collaboratively managing the calendar helps create anticipation and ensures everyone is on the same page regarding commitments.
By incorporating these tips into your routine, you can contribute to your child's health and well-being, while staying mindful of the various holidays and breaks.
If you ever have questions or concerns, our school staff is here to support you.
In partnership,
Mr. K
