Spartan Spotlight Volume 7

 Quote of the Day:

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

Attendance

Attendance is vital for every child every day as lifelong habits are established in the early school years and contribute to student success throughout their school career and beyond. The best way to keep up with your student's curriculum pacing is to ensure they are in class daily and engaging with peers and their teachers.

Please be reminded that our upcoming vacation days for Trimester 1 are:

  • Monday and Tuesday, October 30-31 (Teacher Workday/No Students)

Please try and schedule appointments on non-school days and after school. If your child will be absent for an extended period, please visit our district website or contact the school's front office to set up a short-term independent study contract.

This a reminder that breakfast is served in our cafeteria from 7:20-7:40 daily.

If you would like for your child to have breakfast at school, please arrive at a time that allows your child to complete their breakfast before the start of the school day. Students who arrive after 7:40 will be given a nutritious snack (e.g. Benefiber bar, fruit, etc. ) that can be eaten at snack recess. Students who arrive late or do not finish their breakfast will not be allowed to eat in their classrooms starting on Monday, September 18th. There are several reasons for this rule:

Cleanliness: Eating in the classroom can lead to spills, crumbs, and food residue which attracts pests and makes the classroom messy.

Distraction: Eating in the classroom is distracting to students and teachers.

Time Management: Classroom time is limited and instruction hours are carefully monitored. Allowing students to eat in the classroom cuts into valuable instructional time.

Skate Night is next Tuesday, September 19th from 6-8 pm. Wear your Neon Gear. The class with the highest attendance percentage wins a popcorn party!

Author Terri Dorow will be visiting our school next Wednesday, September 20th. Check out the flyer if you would like to get a signed copy of one of her books.

Tie Dye Day is coming soon! If you would like your student to Tie Dye their Spanger shirt, please fill out and return the form along with $3. If you would like to volunteer and help the students Tie Dye, click here: Tie Dye Sign Up
