Principal's Message:
Hello Spartan Parents and Community Members!
I’m Cassie Schmidt, Spanger’s new Family Support Liaison. I’m excited to be joining a great team focused on your child’s wellness.
I moved to the Sacramento area in Spring of 2022 from St. George, UT where I was working with hospice companies and nursing homes. While I love the senior population, I love working with children even more! I have a Master’s in Public Health and have spent a number of years working in child abuse prevention. I love helping parents learn new skills on strengthening their relationship with their child and am passionate about trauma-informed care.
Since I am joining the team in the middle of the year, I would like to focus on getting to know the children here at Spanger Elementary. I will be participating in the after-school program, stopping in classrooms to practice skill building activities, and welcoming anybody into our wellness center for a snack or wellness break. I’d love to get to know parents as well, so don’t be alarmed if you get a friendly call from me to check in
Feel free to reach out to me if you have concerns with your child or need help finding additional community resources. I am excited to join the team and learn what it means to be a Spanger Spartan!

Did you know we have 10 areas around our school with specific
expectations on how to be safe, respectful, and responsible? Each week I will focus on an area and this week it is our Arrival/Dismissal. Take a moment to review these expectations with your student.
