Principal's Message:

Happy Friday!
It's hard to believe that we are already in the second half of the school year! Although it was a rainy week back, the weather did not seems to dampen the students' spirits. The students were particularly excited they filled our Shield Tower to the top and earned an extra recess. Be sure to ask your child about this accomplishment.
The next few months are going to be filled with many fun events that you won't want to miss. Remember to keep reading the Blog for the latest and greatest events happening around campus.
Thank you all for your support and please let me know if you have any questions regarding anything Spanger.

In partnership,
Mr. K
We are very excited to welcome our new Family & Youth Community Liaison, Cassie Schmidt, to Spanger!

Hello Spartan Parents and Community Members!

I’m Cassie Schmidt, Spanger’s new Family Support Liaison. I’m excited to be joining a great team focused on your child’s wellness.

I moved to the Sacramento area in Spring of 2022 from St. George, UT where I was working with hospice companies and nursing homes. While I love the senior population, I love working with children even more! I have a Master’s in Public Health and have spent a number of years working in child abuse prevention. I love helping parents learn new skills on strengthening their relationship with their child and am passionate about trauma-informed care.

Since I am joining the team in the middle of the year, I would like to focus on getting to know the children here at Spanger Elementary. I will be participating in the after-school program, stopping in classrooms to practice skill building activities, and welcoming anybody into our wellness center for a snack or wellness break. I’d love to get to know parents as well, so don’t be alarmed if you get a friendly call from me to check in 😊

Feel free to reach out to me if you have concerns with your child or need help finding additional community resources. I am excited to join the team and learn what it means to be a Spanger Spartan!
